Should you lose your passport, there are a few things you should do and be aware of.
Firstly, and this sounds bloody obvious, but keep your passport safe in your hotel, in a zipped pocket or bag, and do not leave it anywhere for it to be stolen, such as in a bag in a hire car, or leaving your bag lying around.
If you unfortunately do lose it, you will have to apply for an Emergency Travel Document (ETD) through this link. It will cost you £102 and can take around two working days. You will need to visit the nearest British Consulate to collect.
Should you lose your passport at the World Cup, particularly in the USA, you can apply for an ETD that allows you to stay in the USA for the duration of your trip. However, should your trip involve going to Canada or to Mexico, and with the aim of eventually coming back into the USA, this will not be possible. You will have to make your way home.
If you find yourself in this predicament, please contact us on +447956121314 and we can assist you, or follow the link above.
